DO you have trouble focusing on what you are reading and find yourself reading the same paragraph over and over again? Even when you are not tired, hungry, upset or bothered by anything?
You just can not focus and remember what you read. There is a solution that involves some work but it is really worth the time especially if what you are reading is something you need to understand.
GO BACK AND LOOK FOR A WORD NOT FULLY UNDERSTOOD AND LOOK IT UP IN A GOOD DICTIONARY that is easy for you to understand!
It is not always so easy to spot the word or words not fully understood because you may feel you know the meaning of a word when you do not. For example you may know four meanings of the word but you do not know the fifth but the author happened to use that meaning. There or many other reason why you may feel you know the meaning of a word when you do not fully.
Since you think you know the meaning of the word you go right on past the word and then the resulting confusion is not easy to confront so you attention wanders. TRY GOING BACK AND LOOKING FOR WORD NOT FULLY UNDERSTOOD THE NEXT TIME YOU ATTENTION WANDERS! Or just pick up something you have had trouble reading in the past right now and look for a word you do not fully understand. Look just at the end of where you thought you were doing well.

This father was worried his son might not graduate high school. His son had been put in a special school for failing high school students.
